From the Tatras to the South
project details
Graphic design, book publication
A graphic adaptation of a children’s book for writer and author Simona Frič Hudú – a beautiful story of a little marmot from under the Tatra Mountains, who sets out with his friends to discover other countries and cultures. I created the illustrations using a combination of generative tools and art collage. Each animal was created as a separate object, which I then set into the scenes. Gradually I refined the expressions, positions, details such as the groundhog’s scarf, flag case, fur, shadows or lights – all to give it feeling, character and lightness. The design of the booklet was fine-tuned with an emphasis on the mood of the story, the emotions and the atmosphere of the story. The book can be bought on Martinus and directly from the publisher Elist.
